Good news for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 fans: Activision has announced an extension of the open beta, running an additional 24 hours until October 9, bringing it right up to the release of competitor Battlefield 6, slated for October 10. This gives players extra time to explore the latest maps, modes, and unlocks before the full release on November 14.
“The reaction to the Black Ops 7 Beta so far has been awesome to see! Whether you’re calling in Nukes in Multiplayer or going for high rounds in Zombies Survival, there’s plenty to jump into, and we've had a ton of fun playing alongside everyone.”
What’s New in the Extended Beta?
The extended beta includes the sixth Multiplayer (MP) map Toshin, along with Open playlists, which feature classic matchmaking where skill is minimally considered. This expansion aims to give players more opportunities to test all the weapons, gear, and strategies before launch.
Additionally, Activision is extending 2XP + 2X Weapon XP throughout the remainder of the beta. This move allows players to reach level 30, try out all weapons and gear, and unlock plenty of attachments and Overclocks along the way.

The extended beta now features the following Multiplayer maps:

PC Requirements and Security Measures
PC gamers must enable TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot to play the beta. Activision also revealed that 97% of cheating attempts in the beta were detected within 30 minutes of signing in, with fewer than 1% of cheating attempts reaching a match, showcasing strong anti-cheat measures.
Early Access and Twitch Drops
Players looking to jump into the beta can follow Activision’s guide to access BO7 Early Access, including instructions for enabling Secure Boot on PC. There are also various Twitch drops available for players who stream or watch BO7 content.
Competition: Battlefield 6
While Black Ops 7’s beta sees an extension, EA’s Battlefield 6 faces its own challenges. Numerous leaks have surfaced throughout 2025, and just three days before launch, the game reportedly leaked into the public’s hands, creating a stark contrast in how each franchise is handling pre-launch testing and exposure.
With the beta extension and all the new content, fans have an extra day to sharpen their skills, unlock key gear, and experience the latest Black Ops 7 content before the official release. Whether you’re a veteran of Nuketown-style battles or a newcomer trying your first round in Zombies Survival, the extended beta ensures there’s plenty to explore—and plenty of time to prepare for November 14.
