Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 - Guide to Weapon Prestige & Prestige Attachment
Dec-05-2025 PSTCall of Duty: Black Ops 7 brings a major new feature to gunsmithing: Weapon Prestige and Prestige Attachments. Every weapon in the game can be leveled past its maximum level and “prestiged,” unlocking exclusive cosmetic rewards and a unique attachment variant that changes the weapon’s behavior.
Some of these Prestige Attachments are fantastic additions that meaningfully boost performance in Multiplayer or the upcoming Warzone integration. Others are niche, gimmicky, or simply not worth building around. This guide breaks down how Weapon Prestige works and evaluates every Prestige Attachment currently in Black Ops 7 so you know exactly which guns deserve your attention first.
How Weapon Prestige Works
Once you fully level a weapon—for example, hitting Level 47 on the AK-27—you unlock the ability to Prestige it, so you need CoD: Black Ops 7 Bot Lobbies service. Prestiging a gun grants:
· A unique Prestige Attachment
· A universal camo
· One permanent attachment unlock (any attachment of your choosing)
Each weapon can be prestiged more than once, mainly for additional cosmetic rewards, but the key unlock is always that first Prestige Attachment.
Some Prestige Attachments are exceptionally strong. Others are situational. A few are so weak that most players will never touch them outside of curiosity. Below is a simplified breakdown of every Prestige Attachment and how useful each one is.
Prestige Attachments Breakdown
Assault Rifles
M15 Mod 0
Prestige Attachment: Sonic NATO rounds
Effect: Suppresses minimap firing signature, boosts range & flinch, reduces velocity
Verdict: Situational. Good in Multiplayer, not great for Warzone due to velocity loss.
MXR7
Prestige Attachment: Semi-Auto Fast Mag
Effect: Converts full-auto to semi-auto with a fast-reload 10-round mag and altered recoil traits
Verdict: Very niche. Most players prefer its default automatic profile.
Peacekeeper
Prestige Attachment: Counterforce Stock
Effect: Significant recoil stabilization improvement with minor handling loss
Verdict: Strong. A clean recoil boost for a gun that needs it.
Maverick
Prestige Attachment: Pulse Load Barrel
Effect: Better mobility and handling, more accurate in the air, but reduced range
Verdict: Playable. Fits aggressive playstyles, but the range loss matters.
Mirage
Prestige Attachment: Underbarrel Launcher
Verdict: Not worth it. Too gimmicky for real play.
AK-27
Prestige Attachment: Enhanced Cycle System
Effect: Eliminates horizontal recoil; increases vertical recoil; reduces velocity
Verdict: Excellent. A laser-beam recoil pattern with the right build.
SMGs
Ryden 45K
Prestige Attachment: MFS Full Stock
Effect: Better movement, hip-fire, and tac-stance spread
Verdict: Strong. Perfect for rush-heavy SMG play.
Drawics
Prestige Attachment: Agile Laser Pro
Effect: Mobility and handling boost; slight range increase; recoil worsens
Verdict: Playable. Good for confident players, risky for less experienced ones.
Razer 9mm
Prestige Attachment: Sidewinder Barrel
Effect: Huge velocity increase and excellent recoil gains; slightly worse handling
Verdict: Top-tier. One of the best Prestige Attachments in the game.
Carbon 57
Prestige Attachment: Extended Mag
Effect: Higher ammo capacity and major movement speed improvements; slight range loss
Verdict: Very strong. A run-and-gun monster with this equipped.
MSMC / MPC
Prestige Attachment: Stratus Barrel
Effect: Better recoil and stability, but reduced damage/range; relies on headshots
Verdict: Weak. Too many drawbacks.
RK9
Prestige Attachment: Iron Long Handstop
Effect: Faster burst-cooldown, less recoil, but disables auto-burst
Verdict: Surprisingly good. Manual tapping can be learned with practice.
Shotguns
Breacher
Prestige Attachment: Light Stock
Effect: Faster movement and better slide/dive behavior; reduced range and charge time
Verdict: Playable but inconsistent.
Echo 12
Prestige Attachment: Greyhound Barrel
Effect: More velocity, slightly tighter ADS spread, somewhat better recoil; reduced range
Verdict: Niche. Doesn’t provide enough impactful benefits.
Akita
Prestige Attachment: Shock Stock
Effect: Big mobility/handling buff with some recoil penalty
Verdict: Good. Shotguns don’t care much about recoil anyway.
LMGs
MK78
Prestige Attachment: Heat Shield Belt-fed
Effect: Longer overheat window, better recoil, better mobility; massive overheat penalty
Verdict: Weak. The overheat downside is brutal.
XM325
Prestige Attachment: Motion Strike Laser
Effect: Tight hip-fire spread and longer range, but dramatically slows hip-fire movement
Verdict: Poor. Turns you into a stationary turret—rarely practical.
Marksman Rifles / Snipers
M8A1 Marksman
Prestige Attachment: Tactical Stock
Effect: Improves hip and tac-stance spread
Verdict: Not useful. This gun wants to ADS.
Warden
Prestige Attachment: MFS Snap Trigger
Effect: Faster fire rate, removes firing delay, but reduces range
Verdict: Decent. Great for aggressive sniping, but the range hit hurts.
Nova Line
Prestige Attachment: Enhanced Handstop
Effect: Better control, mobility, and steadiness
Verdict: Strong. Makes this DMR even more lethal.
VSS Recon
Prestige Attachment: Enhanced Handguard
Effect: Longer hold breath, better rechambering, faster ADS, faster sprint-to-fire, better flinch resistance
Verdict: One of the best Prestige Attachments in the game.
XR3 Ion
Prestige Attachment: Hipfire Compensator
Verdict: Niche. Only useful if you’re hip-firing a burst sniper—unlikely.
Shadow SK
Prestige Attachment: Steady Aim Laser
Verdict: Poor. Hip-fire on a semi-auto sniper isn’t practical.
Pistols
Jagger 45
Prestige Attachment: Enhanced Barrel
Effect: One-tap headshot potential but worse fire rate, mobility, handling, and control
Verdict: Skill-dependent. Rewarding only if you consistently hit headshots.
Koden 9
Prestige Attachment: Bulk Mag
Effect: More recoil stability & mobility; slower swap speed; lower damage but longer range
Verdict: Fun. Turns it into a mini-SMG, but not meta-breaking.
VLO 5.7
Prestige Attachment: Short Barrel
Effect: Better movement, better jump/landing stability, faster swap speed
Verdict: Solid. Makes the pistol ideal for aggressive secondary use.
Other Weapons
Launchers and melee weapons do not have Prestige Attachments.
Final Thoughts
Weapon Prestige is one of the most exciting additions to Black Ops 7’s progression system. Many Prestige Attachments meaningfully change a weapon’s identity—sometimes making them significantly stronger, other times turning them into fun experiments.
