Path of Exile 3.26 Awakened Gems Farming Guide

Aug-12-2025 PST

In Path of Exile 3.26, Awakened Support Gems are some of the most powerful and valuable items in the endgame. These gems are upgraded versions of regular support gems, offering stronger effects and even gaining special bonuses when they reach level 5. If you're looking to farm these rare gems or want to reroll the ones you don't need, this guide will walk you through the basics.

What Are Awakened Gems?

Awakened Support Gems are stronger versions of regular support gems. They start powerful at level 1 and get even better as they level up. Most of them go up to level 5, and some unlock extra effects at that point. For example, Awakened GMP can fire more projectiles, and Awakened Spell Echo gives additional casting power.

To use them, your character needs to be at least level 72. They don't stack with their regular versions, and leveling them takes a lot of experience. You'll also need to use Gemcutter's Prisms to improve their quality, because the normal vendor recipe (20% quality + level 20 gem) doesn't work on Awakened gems.

How Do You Get Awakened Gems?

These gems only drop from Maven-witnessed bosses. That means you need to run maps with Maven witnessing and defeat the bosses she watches. The drop rate is pretty low—about 1 to 2 percent per boss—but there are ways to increase your chances.

Best Strategy: Destructive Play + Loop Farming

To get the most Awakened gems, use the Destructive Play keystone in your Atlas. This makes Maven spawn up to 4 extra bosses in maps she witnesses. Each one has a chance to drop an Awakened gem, so the more bosses you fight, the better your chances.

You can even avoid killing the main boss in a map to "reset" the Maven encounter. This way, Maven doesn't count the map as completed, and you can keep farming it.

Best Maps to Use

Some maps are better for this loop farming strategy:

· Silo – You can kill the extra bosses and avoid the main one. Then just portal out and reset the map.

· Desert Spring – All the extra bosses spawn in the first room. Kill them, skip the main boss, and repeat.

· Excavation – There are two boss rooms. Kill the Maven-spawned ones in the first room and leave the map boss alive.

Farming Tips

· Use Scarabs, Sextants, and Map Device crafts to juice your maps for better loot and more monsters.

· If you're farming Desert Spring, allocate the Pandemonium Notable to get even more monsters.

· Occasionally run Unique maps like Cortex or Vaal Temple for extra loot.

· Use fast boss-killing builds like Detonate Dead, Poison Spark, or Spectral Helix to speed up the process.

How to Reroll Awakened Gems

If you get an Awakened Gem you don't want, you can reroll it into another one using Bestiary crafting.

Here's how:

1. Capture a Vivid Watcher beast from the Jungle Valley area.

2. At the Menagerie crafting bench, select the option to "sacrifice an Awakened Support Gem."

3. Choose a cheap or unwanted Awakened Gem to use for the reroll. Avoid gems like Awakened Enlighten or Power Charge on Crit—those can't be rerolled into because they don't come from Maven.

The reroll gives you a random Awakened Gem, which might be worth a lot more than the one you sacrificed.

Is It Worth Rerolling?

It can be, especially if you're doing a lot of rerolls.

Here's a rough idea of the cost:

· A Vivid Watcher beast costs about 1.2 Divine Orbs.

· Other yellow beasts for crafting cost a few more Divines.

· Cheap Awakened Gems cost 0.5 to 1 Divine.

If you reroll 100 gems, expect to spend around 150–160 Divines total.

But if you get something like Awakened Multistrike, Spell Echo, Fork, or Elemental Damage with Attacks, you can sell those for a big profit—some are worth 6 to 90 Divines or more, depending on the league.

In one example, a streamer rerolled 100 gems and ended up with around 254 Divines worth of gems, making over 100 Divines in profit.

Awakened vs. Normal Gems

Here's a simple breakdown of how Awakened Gems are different:

· They only drop from Maven and her invitations.

· They cap at level 5, not 20.

· They scale faster and unlock special effects at max level.

· They don't work with the usual vendor recipes.

· They're worth way more on the trade market.

Conclusion

Awakened Gems are a key part of high-end gear setups and can also be a great way to make POE currency in Path of Exile 3.26. If you follow the right farming methods—like using Destructive Play and picking the right maps—you can farm them efficiently. And if you're feeling lucky, rerolling low-value gems with Bestiary crafting can lead to huge profits.
