Path of Exile 2 has introduced several new mechanics and systems that create unique opportunities for players to farm Path of Exile 2 currency at an incredible rate. Among all the strategies that have surfaced, one particular method stands out as not only the most consistent, but potentially the most profitable guaranteed currency farming route I've ever tried in any ARPG — not just in Path of Exile 2.
This strategy doesn't rely on high-variance drops like raw Divine Orbs, perfect Jeweler's Orbs, or rare uniques that you're lucky to hit once every 50 maps. Instead, it's a consistent generator of value. With the right setup, I've been making anywhere from 100 to 150 Exalted Orbs worth of raw currency per map run. Let that sink in — not just potential value, but actual picked-up, realized loot. The core of this strategy revolves around maximizing Simulacrum Splinter drops, which are turned into full Simulacrum runs, themselves highly profitable, while also stacking tiered rare items, valuable crafting bases, tablets, waystones, and more.
Let's break this down into clear sections — what this looks like in practice, how it works, why it works, and what exactly you need to replicate it.
What I Got From Just Two Maps
To illustrate the power of this method, here's what I got from just two maps:
• 520 Simulacrum Splinters
• 55 Exalted Orbs
• 9 Chaos Orbs
• 8 Alchemy Orbs
• Dozens of tiered rares, jewels, base types, waystones, and tablets
And this doesn't include any jackpot drops like raw Divine Orbs. This is raw, grind-based loot. The total value of currency alone after converting everything into Exalted Orbs came out to 295 Exalted — again, from just two maps.
I'm not trying to overhype this. I have nothing to gain from exaggeration. The numbers speak for themselves. If you want to see this in action, just keep reading and pay attention to the setup. This isn't a “maybe you'll profit” strategy. This is guaranteed, repeatable currency generation, assuming you've got a build strong enough to handle the content.
Why This Strategy Works
This method works because it takes advantage of specific systems in Path of Exile 2 — namely:
1. Explicit Modifiers from Tablets and Waystones
2. Stack Size Increases from Atlas Passives
3. Delirium Scaling, especially Simulacrum Splinter stack size
4. Instilled Maps
5. Tiered Rare Farming
Let's go into each one briefly.
Tablets and Waystones
You'll need a proper tablet and waystone setup, preferably 2-tower or 3-tower setups. These are used to amplify the rewards from the map, especially the stack size of Simulacrum Splinters dropped from non-unique monsters.
The goal is to create a mapping environment that is heavily juiced with modifiers like:
• +10% increased stack size of Simulacrum Splinters
• Increased item quantity
• Increased number of rare monsters
These boosts stack up and are further amplified by the Atlas passive tree.
Atlas Passive Tree Setup
You'll want to mirror a specific Atlas passive tree layout that grabs:
• All nodes that increase the effect of explicit modifiers on waystones and tablets
• All four precursor tablet modifier nodes
• Additional precursor nodes for maximum effect
Without these, you'll be leaving a lot of value on the table. You want to hit nodes that specifically say things like:
• “20% increased effect of explicit modifiers on your waystones”
• “+2% increased effect per explicit modifier on your map” (up to 10-12% based on number of mods)
• 6% increased effect for 2-tower setups
Additionally, you'll need to invest at least four points into the Delirium passive tree, specifically the “Would You Like to See My Face?” node, which gives:
• +50% increased Simulacrum Splinter stack size from non-unique monsters
This is crucial. Without this, the strategy completely falls apart.
You can go further and get the 6th, 7th, and 8th points in Delirium passives as well. These increase mirror spawn rates and unique boss rewards — not required, but highly recommended.
The Core of the Strategy – Simulacrum Splinter Stacking
Now let's get into the meat of the farming method.
When you enter an instilled map (not a normal Delirium mirror!), your tablets and waystones will apply their explicit modifiers directly to the map. If you're running a two-tower setup, you'll have six total tablet slots. Three of those slots should always include:
• 10% increased stack size of Simulacrum Splinters
• Increased item quantity (preferred)
• Or increased rare monsters/rarity
That gives you 30% increased splinter stack size from the tablets.
Now you instill the map with three Distilled Despair waystones. Each of these gives:
• +30% increased Simulacrum Splinter stack size
• +20% delirium effect
So that's another 90% increased stack size, plus a 60% delirium fog density, making the map significantly harder, but much more rewarding.
Final Multiplicative Scaling
Here's how the scaling works:
• Base Simulacrum Splinter stack size: 1 (per drop from regular monster)
• Tablets: +30%
• Waystones: +90%
• Passive Tree Effect Scaling: ~43% (20% + 10-12% + 6% from towers)
You multiply the explicit modifier bonus (90%) by the increased effect (1.43), resulting in:
• 90 * 1.43 = 128.7% increased stack size
So your total stack size bonus is:
• 128.7% from waystones (instilled)
• +30% from tablets
• Total = 158.7%
Which means every regular monster that drops splinters drops 2.58 splinters on average. When hundreds of monsters are dying per map, this adds up to 250+ Simulacrum Splinters per map.
Build Requirements
Make no mistake — this strategy is not easy-mode. The maps are:
• 60% delirious
• Filled with rare monsters
• Packed with extra modifiers
You need a character that can handle the hardest mapping content in the game, and ideally one that's fast, durable, and clears entire screens of enemies quickly.
If you're looking for a good build that handles this content, I'll be releasing a build guide soon focused on a fast-clearing, cheap-ish spin-to-win build. But if you already have a solid character that can handle juiced maps, you're good to go.
Path of Exile 2's mapping system, instilled maps, and wave mechanic allow for a level of loot scaling that simply didn't exist before. With this method, you're not gambling. You're printing currency.
This is, without question, the most consistent, guaranteed, and scalable POE2 currency strategy I've used in Path of Exile 2 so far. If you're looking to fund multiple builds, buy high-end gear, or just stack currency until the next league, there's no better method right now.
