Diablo IV Season 10 is shaping up to be an exciting chapter for Sanctuary's defenders. Between the introduction of mysterious Chaos Powers, a rework to the Infernal Hordes mode, and a few wishlist items from the community, there's plenty to discuss before the season's projected launch on September 23, 2025.
Chaos Powers — Angelic and Demonic Influence Returns
One of the standout features of Season 10 will be the introduction of Chaos Powers. While details remain under wraps, they appear to draw inspiration from Diablo IV's early development concepts — namely, the angelic and demonic power system once shown in previews.
In that older design, gear could roll with angelic or demonic stats, unlocking special bonuses if you reached certain thresholds. Expect a similar setup here, potentially allowing players to craft builds around light vs. dark synergies. This could mean:
· New affixes requiring specific angelic/demonic point totals
· Build identity based on which side you lean toward
· Additional stats that reward mixing and matching gear creatively
Whether Blizzard delivers a new interface or simply builds on the old rune system, the return of these powers could bring a fresh layer of customization.
What You Won't See in Season 10
Let's get the disappointments out of the way early. Based on Blizzard's roadmap, the following features will not be part of Season 10:
· No new class — The next class and expansion are scheduled for 2026.
· No new leaderboard or ranking system — Competitive ladders remain off the table for now.
· No new expansion content — Season 10 focuses on systems and modes, not large-scale narrative updates.
Infernal Hordes 2.0 — More Modifiers, More Rewards
Infernal Hordes, the wave-based gauntlet mode, is returning with an overhaul. This update promises:
· New enemy modifiers to ramp up the challenge
· Exclusive rewards, such as items only obtainable in Hordes
· Potential buffs to underused items like the Crown of Lucian, which lost relevance after nerfs
If Blizzard follows player feedback, this could also be the place for guaranteed rune drops, perfect-rolled aspects, or extra crafting Diablo 4 materials, making it a worthwhile alternative to endless Pit farming.
Collaborations and Cosmetics
Blizzard has teased a new IP collaboration for Season 10. Previous crossovers, like the Berserk collab, brought great skins but limited gameplay content. Many in the community hope this time we'll get:
· Unlockable cosmetics tied to in-game challenges, not just the shop
· Collab-specific bosses, events, or mechanics to keep players engaged
· Rewards beyond borders and icons — think weapons, armor skins, or mounts
Expected Item Changes
Season 10 will likely include:
· One new unique item per class
· Balance passes on weak builds (though historically, some buffs have been underwhelming)
· Adjustments to rune drop rates or crafting systems — potentially lowering costs for Mythic items or allowing more targeted rune crafting
The community is also pushing for all builds to be Pit 100 capable, so glyph leveling doesn't become an exclusive club for meta setups.
The Wishlist — Community and Personal Picks
Here's what many players (myself included) would love to see:
1. Rework Andariel – Make her a single-phase fight or drastically improve her loot drop rate.
2. Reduce Mythic Boss Grind – Introduce an option to spend more materials for fewer runs.
3. Introduce World Tier 5 – Data for this tier exists, and it could bring better loot standards (minimum Greater Affix rolls).
4. Better Loot Filtering – Or at least give pets the ability to auto-salvage trash drops.
5. Pit Incentives – Make high-tier Pits worth running compared to quick Pit 55 clears.
6. Trade Improvements – Bring meaningful trading back into the game without relying on clunky third-party sites.
7. Tempering/Masterworking Tweaks – Add checkpoints or reduce the pain of bricking items.
8. Glyph Accessibility – All builds should be able to max their glyphs, even if top-end performance varies.
9. Female Druid Visual Update – More customization variety could improve both immersion and monetization through skins.
PTR Incoming
The Public Test Realm (PTR) for Season 10 should launch in the next week or two. That will be our first chance to test Chaos Powers, explore the Infernal Hordes revamp, and see how far Blizzard goes with addressing player feedback.
Final Thoughts
Season 10 has the potential to breathe life into Diablo IV's mid-season slump. With Chaos Powers hinting at deeper buildcraft, an Infernal Hordes refresh promising better rewards, and a collaboration on the horizon, the content pipeline looks promising.
But the real test will be whether Blizzard tackles long-standing pain points — loot quality, grind fatigue, and underperforming builds.
If they can hit the balance between fresh content and meaningful progression, Season 10 could be one of Diablo IV's strongest showings yet.
