OSRS Summer Sweep Up Guide: CoX Purples Explode, Agility Gets Easier, and Worms Crag Levels Up

Aug-13-2026 PST

The OSRS Summer Sweep Up has flipped several major grinds on their heads. Are Chambers of Xeric Challenge Modes now the best route for high-value raid loot? Can players finally reach the Hallowed Sepulchre’s best floors without an extreme Agility grind? And is Worms Crag becoming a serious destination for clue hunters, pet collectors, and mid-game progression? This update reduces the dominance of prayer scrolls in CoX, boosts the effective chance of premium uniques, opens faster Agility routes, improves low-intensity training, and adds valuable quality-of-life upgrades across the new island. Here is what matters most and how to use it.

Chambers of Xeric Drop Rates: Fewer Scrolls, More Real Purples

The biggest OSRS Summer Sweep Up change is the Chambers of Xeric drop table rebalance.

Arcane and Dexterous prayer scroll weighting has been reduced from 20 to 14. That is roughly a 20% direct reduction in prayer scroll frequency. Since these scrolls previously occupied such a huge portion of the purple loot table, reducing their weighting improves the effective odds of nearly every other unique.

Key CoX Drop Rate Changes

- Arcane and Dexterous prayer scrolls: approximately 20% less common.

- Ancestral armour pieces: weighting increased from 3 to 4.

- Ancestral armour: effectively around 53% more common in standard Chambers.

- Other major uniques: effectively around 15% more common.

- Improved items include the Twisted Bow, Dragon Claws, Dragon Hunter Crossbow, Kodai Wand, Elder Maul, Twisted Buckler, and Dinh’s Bulwark.

The total unique weighting has fallen from 69 to 60. That means a Twisted Bow is now weighted at 2 out of 60 instead of 2 out of 69, which is a major long-term improvement for raid loot quality.

Who benefits: CoX regulars, raid learners, and players chasing expensive gear upgrades.

The value: More exciting purple chests and less frustration from repeatedly seeing prayer scrolls.

Challenge Mode Chambers: The New GP-per-Hour King?

Challenge Mode Chambers of Xeric received an even stronger boost. Prayer scrolls are approximately 26% less common in Challenge Modes, creating a more premium-focused reward pool.

Why Challenge Modes Look So Strong

- Ancestral drops are effectively around 64% more likely.

- Most non-scroll CoX uniques are around 23% more common.

- The improved Twisted Bow chance gives Challenge Modes massive long-term earning potential.

- Faster access to high-value uniques can make difficult runs more rewarding than standard Chambers.

This does not guarantee that Challenge Modes will always beat regular CoX for profit. Prayer scroll prices may rise as supply falls, while gear prices may decline as more items enter the game. Still, for skilled teams that can clear efficiently, Challenge Mode Chambers now looks like one of the most attractive PvM money-making paths in Old School RuneScape.

If you are preparing a raid setup or replacing key gear, buy OSRS gold at eld.gg to help complete your build before the market settles.

Who benefits: Experienced raiders, organised teams, and players targeting Twisted Bow or Ancestral drops.

The value: Better expected loot quality and potentially higher GP per hour for efficient Challenge Mode clears.

CoX Economy Watch: What Could Happen to Prices?

The market reaction is already beginning. High-volume items may decline as their supply increases, while prayer scrolls could become more valuable because fewer enter the game.

Likely Market Trends

- Twisted Bow prices may face downward pressure due to higher effective supply.

- Ancestral armour may become more accessible, especially over the long term.

- Dexterous and Arcane prayer scrolls may rise if reduced supply outpaces demand.

- More players may begin raiding CoX, increasing total item supply even further.

The important takeaway is simple: do not treat early price movement as the final answer. CoX profitability depends on unique values, raid participation, clear speeds, and how the community adjusts to the new reward balance.

Who benefits: Merchants, PvM investors, and players planning major gear purchases.

The value: A clearer framework for deciding whether to sell, hold, buy, or farm CoX after the update.

Hallowed Sepulchre Is Finally More Accessible

The Hallowed Sepulchre has always been one of OSRS’s most rewarding Agility activities, but its upper floors were locked behind demanding level requirements. The Summer Sweep Up lowers that barrier.

New Hallowed Sepulchre Requirements

- Floor 4 requirement reduced by five Agility levels.

- Floor 5 requirement reduced by five Agility levels.

- Players can now use Agility boosts to access new floors.

- A summer pie’s +5 Agility boost can provide access to Floor 4 from level 72.

- The same boost can provide access to Floor 5 from level 82.

This is huge for players who want Sepulchre experience, loot, and Grand Hallowed Chest access earlier. Rather than waiting until the old high-level milestones, you can plan temporary boosts around your training sessions and enter premium floors far sooner.

Who benefits: Mid-level Agility players, iron accounts, and players seeking a more active training method.

The value: Earlier access to high-level Sepulchre content, better training variety, and more meaningful rewards.

Colossal Worm Agility Course: More AFK, Same Progress

The Colossal Worm Agility Course was intended as a lower-intensity training option, but it did not feel relaxed enough compared with the experience it offered. That has changed.

Colossal Worm Course Improvements

- Basic course AFK time increased by 25%.

- Advanced course AFK time increased by 40%.

- Experience rates should remain broadly similar.

- The course now better fits its purpose as a less demanding Agility training option.

This is not a maximum-XP-per-hour update. It is an effort and attention update. Players who want to train Agility while multitasking now have a much more appealing alternative to constant rooftop clicking or high-focus Sepulchre runs.

Who benefits: Casual players, second-monitor players, and anyone tired of intensive Agility training.

The value: Lower-effort Agility progress without sacrificing too much experience.

New Agility Shortcuts: Small Changes, Massive Travel Savings

The update adds a wide range of shortcuts that make everyday Gielinor travel smoother. These may not look like headline PvM rewards, but they save time across quests, clue scrolls, skilling, and general account progression.

Notable New Shortcuts

- Easier western access to Draynor Manor.

- A shortcut south of the Champions’ Guild.

- A route from the Necklace of Passage area toward Giants’ Plateau.

- A faster Edgeville Dungeon path that reduces dependence on the brass key.

- A shortcut to the top of the Arceuus Library.

- A river crossing near Sophanem.

- Stepping stones to the island north of Mos Le’Harmless for clue scroll routes.

- A Pollnivneach-to-plateau shortcut.

- Selected grapple shortcuts can now be completed bare-handed at the required level.

The bare-handed grapple change is especially welcome. Many grapple shortcuts were ignored because carrying a mith grapple was inconvenient. Now, practical movement routes become genuinely useful in normal gameplay.

Who benefits: Questers, clue hunters, diary grinders, and players who travel constantly.

The value: Less running, fewer inventory compromises, and faster completion of routine activities.

Chivalry Gets a Serious Prayer Efficiency Buff

Chivalry’s prayer drain rate has been reduced to match Deadeye and Mystic Vigour. In practical terms, it now lasts roughly twice as long as before.

What Changed for Chivalry?

- Previous duration: about two minutes.

- New duration: about four minutes.

- Drain rate: effectively cut in half.

- Practical role: a more viable prayer-saving option for situations where stronger overhead costs are unnecessary.

Chivalry may not replace every top-tier combat prayer, but it now has a real role for players balancing combat bonuses with prayer conservation. That makes it more useful during Slayer, lower-intensity bossing, and long trips where restoring prayer is inconvenient.

Who benefits: Mid-game combat players, Slayer enthusiasts, and accounts conserving supplies.

The value: Longer trips, reduced prayer potion use, and a more relevant combat unlock.

Worms Crag Updates: Better Clues, Smoother Crafting, Clearer Drop Goals

Worms Crag also received useful improvements, especially for players exploring its PvM, Hunter, and crafting activities. ELD offer a easy, safe, fast, and stable way to buy cheap RS gold more great service you can get.

Mad Angel and Golem Crafting Improvements

- The Mad Angel now drops medium clues rather than hard clues.

- Medium clues offer a stronger passive route for Ranger boots hunters.

- Gems from golem crafting now go directly into the gem bag.

- Several golem crafting bugs have been fixed.

- The Hallowed Fell unique is approximately 1 in 127.

- The Jar of Light is approximately 1 in 1,000.

- The Mad Angel pet is approximately 1 in 2,000.

- Mr. McRoot, the Hunter pet, is approximately 1 in 40,000 from goats, with rates influenced by Hunter level.
