Aug-16-2026 PST

OSRS Summer Sweep Up update featuring Chambers of Xeric, Agility changes and major game economy updates.

Meta Description

OSRS Summer Sweep Up brings major Chambers of Xeric drop-rate buffs, Agility changes, new shortcuts, Worms Crag fixes and 4.6T gold removed.

Summary

OSRS just received one of its biggest Summer Sweep Up batches, with major Chambers of Xeric loot changes, Agility buffs and economy updates that could reshape OSRS gold farming.

OSRS: Why the Chambers of Xeric Loot Changes Could Reshape the Meta

The latest OSRS Summer Sweep Up update delivers major changes to Chambers of Xeric, Agility and Worms Crag. CoX now has significantly improved unique-item rates, while new shortcuts and lower Agility requirements make several activities more accessible. For players focused on OSRS gold farming, these changes could have a major impact on raid profitability and the wider economy. For players building their bank quickly, buy OSRS gold may also be an option.

Chambers of Xeric Gets Its Biggest Loot Shake-Up Yet

OSRS Chambers of Xeric loot table changes with improved drop rates for Ancestral, Twisted Bow and other raid uniques.

OSRS gold markets are likely to react heavily to the new Chambers of Xeric drop table.

The biggest change is the weighting reduction for the Arcane and Dexterous prayer scrolls, dropping from 20 to 14. That represents roughly a 20% reduction in their individual weighting.

Ancestral pieces also move from a weighting of 3 to 4. Because the overall table has been reduced, however, the effective increase is much larger.

Item / CategoryPreviousNew Effective Rate
Arcane / DexterousWeight 20Weight 14
AncestralWeight 3About 53% more common
Other CoX uniquesWeight unchangedAbout 15% more common
Challenge Mode uniquesAbout 23% more common

The biggest potential winner is the Twisted Bow. With the total weighting falling from 69 to 60, its relative chance increases even though its individual weighting remains unchanged.

Challenge Mode CoX receives an even stronger adjustment. Prayer scrolls become less common, making Ancestral roughly 64% more likely and other raid uniques around 23% more common.

Market Watch: The Twisted Bow had already fallen from around 1.5B to 1.3B GP during the month, while Dexterous prayer scrolls moved from roughly 15M to 23M GP. Prices remain volatile as the new supply reaches the market.

OSRS Agility Changes Make Several Activities More Accessible

Chambers of Xeric isn't the only major part of this update. Agility has also received several quality-of-life improvements.

The Hallowed Sepulchre requirements for Floors 4 and 5 have been reduced by 5 Agility levels, while players can now boost their level to enter higher floors.

With a +5 Summer Pie boost, Floor 4 can effectively be accessed at 72 Agility, while Floor 5 becomes available from 82 Agility.

The Colossal Worm Agility Course has also been adjusted:

  • Basic course AFK time increased by 25%

  • Advanced course AFK time increased by 40%

  • Experience rates remain broadly similar

  • Multiple new shortcuts improve travel around Gielinor

  • Certain grapple shortcuts can now be completed bare-handed

Another substantial improvement affects Chivalry. Its prayer drain rate has been reduced to match Deadeye and Mystic Vigour, effectively doubling its duration from around 2 minutes to 4 minutes.

Worms Crag and Economy Updates

OSRS Mad Angel encounter and Worms Crag updates including new Medium Clue Scroll rewards.

The Mad Angel encounter now drops Medium Clue Scrolls instead of Hard Clues, providing a more useful passive source for players chasing medium clue rewards.

Golem crafting also received several fixes, including gems now going directly into the Gem Bag.

The update additionally revealed several new drop rates:

  • Hallowed Fell: 1/127

  • Jar of Light: 1/1,000

  • Hallowed-related pet: 1/2,000

  • Mr. McRoot: approximately 1/40,000

  • Jeweler's Chisel: approximately 1/300

The economy is also being aggressively monitored. In July alone, Jagex reported 150,000 account bans and removed approximately 4.6 trillion GP from the game. The year-to-date total has now reached around 25 trillion GP.

Final Verdict

This OSRS update is more than a collection of quality-of-life tweaks. CoX now offers a much healthier distribution of valuable uniques, Agility has become more accessible, and the economy is receiving another major intervention. The long-term impact on OSRS gold prices will depend on how quickly raid participation and item supply increase. Players looking to accelerate their progression can also explore OSRS gold.

TL;DR

The Summer Sweep Up update significantly improves Chambers of Xeric loot rates, especially for Ancestral and other valuable uniques, while Challenge Mode becomes even more attractive for GP-focused players.

Agility requirements and shortcuts have also been improved, while Jagex removed 4.6T GP from the economy during July alone.

Which change do you expect to have the biggest impact on the OSRS meta: the CoX loot rework, Agility buffs, or the economy changes?
