Grinding Gear Games has made farming in Path of Exile 2 a bit tougher than before, especially when you're trying to make it to endgame content. I've seen tons of players struggling to scrape together enough Path of Exile 2 currency to progress or gear up their builds. People keep asking how to farm effectively and fund their characters, so I figured I'd lay it all out and explain how I've been farming my Divines in this economy.
This guide will break down what I'm currently doing, what farming strategies you can try, and what I recommend based on experience. One thing to note: the economy is constantly shifting, so while this setup works well now, it may change as time goes on.
Let's get into it.
Step 1: Understand What Makes a Map Profitable
To get anything worthwhile from your maps, you have to pay attention to a few key modifiers. Two of the most important are:
• Item Rarity
• Item Quantity
You can stack rarity on your character with gear and passives. Quantity, on the other hand, comes mostly from map modifiers and tablets. Figuring out which maps to use and how to juice them is essential.
Step 2: Atlas Setup and Tower Buffs
Here's the base setup I use for mapping.
In your Atlas, look for a setup with three tower nodes that are close to each other. For example, I use double towers with three upgrade options each, plus one more tower nearby. When you activate buffs in this zone, they stack on top of each other, affecting a large portion of maps in that area.
Having at least two towers in close range is good, and if you can squeeze in a third one overlapping, that's even better. This will give a significant boost to your map productivity. Always try to target a farming zone where three towers intersect.
Step 3: Tablet Bonuses – Which Ones Matter?
When it comes to tablets, I usually use Magic tablets and aim for the following:
• Quantity bonuses (most important)
• Ritual favors
• Breach and irradiated modifiers
• Boss bonuses (occasionally)
The most valuable tablet modifiers include:
• Increased quantity of items found (go for 6–7%)
• Increased rarity of items found (add at least one)
• Ritual tablets with reduced favor cost
• Tablets with an increased chance for maps to become Omens
If you can stack two or three tablets with the “chance to be Omens” modifier, even better. Omens have great value right now, especially for the rarer types.
You can also mix in tablets with pack size or rare monster increase if you have room. Occasionally, I use a Delirium precursor tablet too, especially if I'm not planning to force delirium another way. This adds more monsters, which always helps.
For example, my usual tablet setup includes:
• 2 tablets with Ritual favors
• 2 with Breach
• 2 with quantity or irradiated bonuses
• A few extra with Omens or Delirium
This combo gives great returns. Rituals bring in the bulk of the currency, Breach provides decent loot, and Omens are a solid secondary source of income. Delirium adds even more monsters to the mix.
Step 4: Rolling and Buffing Maps
Next, you'll want to prep your maps to maximize profits.
Here's what I look for:
• Increased Item Quantity
• Increased Item Rarity
• Increased Number of Rare Monsters
• Pack Size
A good example is a map with all of the above and one open prefix. In this case, use an Exalted Orb to try adding another useful affix, like more pack size. If your character is strong, you can push it further, but don't worry if you want to keep it safer with just prefixes.
Pack size and rare monsters are essential because:
• More monsters = more loot
• More mobs spawn inside Rituals = more tribute
That said, if your map already has quantity, rarity, rare monsters, and pack size, that's considered an ideal map. These are the ones you want to roll and run with your tower buffs and tablets active.
Step 5: Tablet Farming and Strategy Tips
Once your maps are set up and your Atlas has been buffed using the towers, it's time to just start farming.
Your main profit will come from Rituals. Your secondary profit will be from Breach. If you've added Delirium, that's a third bonus. And Omens are an extra cherry on top.
Make sure your maps are rolling the right affixes. If you're using multiple tablets with “chance to become Omens,” focus on increasing pack size and rare monsters more than quantity and rarity. The goal there is to spawn more Ritual monsters and maximize your tribute per map.
If you're only using one Ritual bonus and not going too hard on Omens, stick with quantity and rarity as your base setup.
Step 6: Atlas Passive Tree Strategy
Let's talk about your Atlas passive tree.
For Breach, take:
• Frantic Invasion
• Rising Fire
• Crumbling Walls
• Grasping Hands
These passives will help you farm Breachstones faster and give you more splinters per run. Crumbling Walls adds extra breaches, while Rising Power helps fix the lower mob density inside breaches.
For Ritual, go with:
• Tempting Offers
• Spreading Darkness
• He Approaches
These will give you:
• Higher chances of getting “Audience with the King”
• Four Rituals per map
• Cheaper Ritual favor costs
Outside of Ritual and Breach, I also take all Shrine-related passives and tablet nodes. These just enhance what we're already doing and don't require micromanagement.
Step 7: Adding Delirium to Maps
Now let's talk about Delirium. You've got a couple of options here.
If you want to juice your map a little, use:
• Delirium with Greed – Increases rarity
• Delirium with Paranoia – Increases the number of rare monsters
If your map already has a 50% or more rare monster bonus, and you add Paranoia, that multiplies everything. Combine that with quantity and pack size, and you'll have a seriously dense map.
However, be careful: adding Delirium can slow down your clear speed and create lag issues. If your character isn't tanky or fast enough, you might want to skip Delirium altogether. It's optional—only use it if you're confident in your build.
Step 8: Mechanics That Don't Work as Well
I've tested quite a few other mechanics too—like:
• Rogue Exiles
• Essences
• Strongboxes
Right now, none of them seem worth the investment unless you're running a build specifically designed to capitalize on them. The profit just doesn't compare to Ritual + Breach + tablet stacking.
Stick with the strategy I laid out and you'll be far better off.
Step 9: Final Profit Sources
Running this setup, you'll earn:
• Bridge Splinters for selling or running Breachstones
• Catalysts from Rituals (some are worth a decent amount)
• Omens, especially the valuable ones
• Divine Orbs and other currency from Tribute
You'll also drop random loot from Delirium if you run it, plus increased chances at high-level gem drops from irradiated maps.
It's a complete, balanced setup. You don't need Headhunter or Mageblood to make it work. You just need solid map rolls, good towers, and the right tablet modifiers.
Wrapping It Up
If you're struggling to find Divines and fund your build in Path of Exile 2, try the strategy above. It's working well for me, and I'm farming everything I need on my own. You don't need to rely on trading or luck—you just need a solid plan.
