In Arc Raiders, Scrappy is your go-to companion for gathering essential crafting materials. From shields and meds to ammo, Scrappy provides a steady flow of resources that keep you well-equipped. However, upgrading Scrappy to level five makes it far more efficient, as it begins generating these materials passively over time. The only challenge? Farming the countless Arc Raiders items required for each upgrade can be a massive time sink.

We’ve identified the best spots for all the materials you’ll need. Here’s everything you need to know to get Scrappy maxed out quickly and efficiently.

Level 1 → Level 2: The Dog Collar

To upgrade Scrappy to level two, you’ll need the rare dog collar. This item is easier to obtain than you might think:

• Damn Battlegrounds – Ruby Residence: Check the shelves in various apartments.

• Blue Gate Map – Village: Filled with containers and valuable loot, this map is excellent not just for the dog collar but for many future upgrade materials.

Pro tip: If you’re early in the game, stick to the Damn Battlegrounds. Later, the Blue Gate Village is your best farming hub.

Level 2 → Level 3: Apricots and Lemons

Level three requires three apricots and three lemons.

• Apricots:

  • Damn Battlegrounds – Red Lake: Look on the small islands near the hatch. Pick from the floor or interact with the trees to drop extras.

• Lemons:

  • Buried City – Park in the New District: Keep an eye out for ark robots while collecting lemons from trees and the ground.

Alternate farming spot: Both apricots and lemons can also be collected in more efficient areas, which we’ll cover next.

Level 3 → Level 4: Olives, Prickly Pears, and Cat Bed

Level four introduces more complex requirements: six olives, six prickly pears, and one cat bed.

• Olives:

  • Blue Gate Map – Farmstead/Olive Grove: A one-stop location that also has apricot and lemon trees. While farming, grab 12 extra apricots for later upgrades.

• Prickly Pears:

  • Damn Battlegrounds – Various cactus clusters:

• West of the West Broken Bridge

• East of Pattern House near Red Lake Hatch

• Middle of the map clusters (spawn 0–3 randomly)

• Cat Bed:

  • Early game: Buried City – Plaza Rosa (lower floor shops)

  • Midgame: Blue Gate Map – Commercial/residential buildings make it a prime location for cat beds, dog collars, and pillows.

Level 4 → Level 5: Mushrooms, Pillows, and Apricots

The final upgrade requires 12 mushrooms, three very comfortable pillows, and 12 apricots.

• Mushrooms:

  • Found on downed/broken trees, inside hydroponics buildings, or near pipes in the Water Treatment area (Damn Battlegrounds).

  • Most efficient spot: Blue Gate Map – Water Treatment, checking the blue pipe that can spawn 0–3 mushrooms per run. Repeat until you reach 12.

• Very Comfortable Pillows:

  • Blue Gate Map – Village: Commercial and residential areas yield 1–2 pillows per run. Loot thoroughly for the fastest results.

• Apricots:

  • Use previously mentioned spots; the Olive Grove in Blue Gate Map is ideal for combining with earlier olive collection.

Final Tips

Focus on areas that allow you to collect multiple items at once. Blue Gate Village is the clear winner for mid- to late-game farming. Some items, like mushrooms and prickly pears, have random spawns. Multiple runs might be required. If you’ve discovered faster routes or hidden spots, share them!
